Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications at the moment are open and may shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the subsequent criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home which has a combined gross household earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined family cash flow won't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and wish not submit any evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the correct Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are researching or plan to research in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public nsfas application universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
